29 March 2016, Belgrade (Serbia), 8 p.m.: At “Parobrod” cultural center and “Booka” publishing house: An evening dedicated to the 500 Years of the Jewish Ghetto of Venice. Book launch:  “Five fairytales on the Venice Ghetto” by Mirjana Ognjanovic (illustrated by Aleksandar Palavestra). With: Filip David (author), Davide Scalmani (director of the Italian Cultural Institute of Belgrade), Slavko Krunic, artist, Ivan Bevc publisher (“Booka”) and the authors  – Mirjana Ognjanovic and Aleksandar Palavestra.

March 29th-July 31 San Francisco, USA: The Museo Italo Americano and the Jewish Community Library of San Francisco present Il Ghetto: The Venice Ghetto at 500

June 9th – Edinburgh, Scotland – at  the Italian Cultural Institute : The Venetian Ghetto. A round table discussion in occasion of the 500th anniversary of its establishment. In collaboration with prof. Joseph Farrell. Strathclyde University.  Edinburgh.program.

August 31st-September 1st, Toronto (Canada), Italian Cultural Institute, 496 Huron Street, Five Hundred Years of the Ghetto in Venice, a lecture by Shaul Bassi.

September 18-19, New York (USA),  Center for Jewish History , 15 West 16th Street, New York, NY – A two-day conference on: The Ghetto and Beyond: The Jews in the Age of the Medici, organized by The Center for Jewish History and The Medici Archive Project. Download the program here. From September 16th 2016 to January 13th, 2017, an exhibition with the same title.

September 19th, New York (USA), 6-8 pm, Rizzoli Bookstore, 1133 Broadway, launch of the English edition of the catalogue: “Venice, the Jews and Europe. 1516-2016”. More about the exhibition here.
